Amed

Amed.

The small village of Amed is on the eastern coast of the island.

The receptionist had booked us a cab, so we just had to hop on board, and off to Amed (after a stop at a pharmacy…). The road follows the coast, so we had some nice sightseeing on the way.

We chose the Vienna Beach hotel (click link to book) in Amed, a simple hotel right on the beach, with an amazing sea-view from our balcony. Tip : wake up early to admire the sun rise… you won’t regret it !

The view is pretty nice during the day, too :

We only stayed one night in Amed, but we had time to discover the marine life. It’s amazing, right in front of you. Amed is a very safe place to snorkel !

If you’re looking for a place to eat, I recommend Wayan’s Warung (a few hundred meters on the left when you go down the road from Vienna Beach hotel. And if you click the name of the restaurant here, you’ll access the comments on Tripadvisor). It’s the PERFECT place. A very small Warung where the food is delicious, and the boss is adorable. A lot of Balinese people eat there too, so it’s always a good sign 🙂

The next day, we took a boat to the Gili Islands. That was an adventure !
